These are the cookies that I've been craving. I made them on Monday and now they are gone, which is too bad because looking at this picture is making me want one. They have a secret ingredient in them, making them not your average chocolate chip cookie. I guess it's not really a secret, since I'm posting the recipe. The secret ingredient is . . . instant pudding! Yum!
Secret Ingredient Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 c. butter (I substitute 4 T. of butter with applesauce)
1/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
4 oz. pkg instant pudding (vanilla or coconut)
2 - 2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. quick oats
chocolate chips, as many as you'd like
nuts, optional
Cream butter, applesauce, sugar and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix together pudding, flour, soda, salt, and oats and add slowly. Add chocolate chips and nuts if desired. Scoop dough into balls and place on baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes.
Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
