I needed to make some dessert to share with a few other families tonight. I decided to make gingersnaps because they are one of my favorite cookies, but my hubby doesn't like them, so I don't make them very often.
I decided to try a new recipe, so I tried this one from the Sisters' Cafe. They turned out great! It's a good thing I'll be giving most of them away.
And, just becuase you can't see the cute Christmas platter that they're on, I'm posting a picture of it too. One of the girls that I teach piano to gave it to me for a Christmas gift the other day. I love it.
Soft and Chewy Gingersnaps
recipe from the Sisters' Cafe
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. shortening (I used butter)
1/2 c. molasses
4 c. flour
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 tsp. ginger
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 pkg. white chocolate chips (optional)
Mix first four ingredients well, then add the remaining ingredients.
Roll into balls and roll in sugar. Crystal or raw sugar is the prettiest.
Bake at 350 degrees for 11 to 13 minutes.
(I halved this recipe and it made 30 cookies.)
